Esther Mendelsohn
Associate
Esther is an associate at Wagner Sidlofsky and a member of the firm’s Estates and Commercial Litigation groups.
Esther was called to the Ontario Bar in 2020. She obtained her J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School and received the IFLS Vanguard Award. During her legal studies, Esther worked at the Parkdale community clinic, representing marginalized clients before administrative tribunals. She was also a staff writer for the Obiter Dicta and judged several mooting competitions. Esther holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Toronto; she was on the Dean’s List and graduated with High Distinction. She was recognized for her involvement in the campus community and was an upper-year mentor for first-year students.
Prior to joining the firm, Esther clerked for the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Israel and was involved in some of the most high-profile cases to come before the Court. She also worked under the Deputy Attorney General in the International Law Department of the Israeli Ministry of Justice, where she was involved in foreign litigation matters. Prior to that, she worked at a top full-service firm in Tel Aviv, where she was involved in high-value cross-border class action matters involving some of the largest multinational corporations. Esther has made submissions to the United Nations, led community legal education workshops, and contributed research to a recently published book.
In addition to English, Esther is fluent in Hebrew and Spanish, and her interests include legal ethics, art, history, and cooking.
